Introducing… Blue Suede

Introducing… Blue Suede

“Well you can do anything but step on my blue suede shoes” .. you got that right, Elvis! Mess with my suede and I’ll pretend I never knew your name. We are SUPER excited about this fabulous New Fall Fragrance!!

What does Blue Suede as a candle smell like? It’s beautiful seductive notes of cassia root and amber that are blended with vibrant orange. A heart of woods and spices collide. An accord of suede, patchouli and vanilla cashmere add complexity to a signature aroma.

Did you know suede is a natural leather with a soft and fibrous touch which makes it a high-end material?  We all know how classy we feel when we wear suede, well what about if we incorporate it in our home decor? Live the elegant lifestyle with these suede decor tips.

  • Upholstery
  • Soft suede upholstery has an opulent finish making it work well with both modern and classic sofa and chair designs. It is not only long lasting and durable but unexplainably soft making it great for your living room furniture.

Beware of spills! Wetness damages the texture of suede making it hard and stiff.

  • Headboard
  • The sensual feel makes suede perfect for your bed. Adds comfort to your bed but also a luxurious look. You can use the classic quilted look, shirred or tufted pattern or just stick with a solid base.

Oils from your face and hair can stain suede so be careful if you decide to use this option.

  • Curtains
  • Naturally thick suede is sensible for cold climates, it blocks draughts and keeps heat in. The thickness also gives them that “black out curtain” effect. If you are in a warmer climate use microsuede or ultrasuede because they are thinner.

  • Wall Accent
  • Solid tones, prints and textures can spice up a wall in seconds or just a solid suede wall creates a unique and luxurious feel to your room. If you’re hesitant about this because you have kids running around and are worried about keeping it clean but still want that classy look you can use suede paint.

  • Cushion Covers
  • Show off suede’s playful side with quilted patterns and punchy hues. Solid suede is always the classiest, but either way it is going to add a pop of color and if you coordinate your room colors with the cushions your room is sure to take your room to the next level.

How To Clean: After soaking up spills, let the area dry COMPLETELY. Then, use a suede brush in gentle circular motions until it blends into the surrounding area. I have also heard baby powder helps with soaking up spills.

    Fun Facts:

    • Suede is a type of leather made from the underside of the animal skin, giving it a soft surface.
    • During the 20th century, suede became a fashion trend and a status symbol. Famous high-end fashion designers such as Paquin, Givenchy and Hermes started preferring suede for the catwalks due to its versatility as a material.
