Blueberry Donut Recipe

Blueberry Donut Recipe

The sweet smell of blueberry making its way around your house waking up everyone in its path, it doesn’t get any better on a Sunday morning. Blueberry muffins are the go-to for most people but step it up a notch and surprise your family with homemade donuts that look (and taste) like they’re straight from your local bakery.

What You Will Need:

  • All Purpose Flour
  • Light Brown Sugar
  • Salt
  • Baking Powder
  • Buttermilk
  • Unsalted Butter
  • Egg
  • Blueberries (Fresh Or Frozen)
  • Confectioners Sugar
  • Vanilla Extract
  • Milk

Step One: Separate Dry & Wet Ingredients

Whisk flour, brown sugar and salt in a medium mixing bowl. Place Buttermilk, egg and melted butter into a small bowl.

Step Two: Add Wet Into Dry

Combine your wet ingredients with your dry. Stir until combined - do not over stir.

Step Three: Fold In Blueberries

FOLD not MIX! Be very gentle so you don’t mash your blueberries, you want them to be as whole as possible.

Step Four: Pour Into Pan

Pour your batter into a sandwich bag and cut a small slit in the corner, pipe batter into a donut pan.

Hack: If you don’t have a donut pan, don’t worry! Scoop batter into a muffin tin filling it only half way full, then roll a piece of aluminum foil into a ball and stick in the center of the batter. Boom - donut pan!

Step Five: Bake & Make Glaze

Place in your oven that is heated to 350 degrees fahrenheit for about 20-22 minutes or until golden. While that’s baking, combine confectioners sugar, vanilla extract and milk into a bowl. Mix vigorously.

Step Six: Let Cool & Dip

When donuts are golden brown, remove them from the oven, let them stand for about 10-12 minutes before taking them out of the pan, and then for another 5 minutes on a cooling rack. When cooled, dip either the faces of the donuts or the whole donut into your glaze. Let them dry a minute and serve!

Ughhh YUM!!! I have got to make a Walmart run after work, my mouth is watering! Enjoy your donuts with your family while enjoying that delicious aroma I was talking about earlier. If you’re like me and want that smell in your house EVERYDAY but your belt buckle is telling you “no”, enjoy a 26 oz Frosted Blueberry Donut Candleberry Scented Candle. This warm, donut, bakery aroma is slightly blueberry, slightly spiced and dripping with bakeshop glaze. Filled with the fragrance of sweet confection.
